Three thoughts from the latest poll:

  • There are still three SEC teams ranked in the AP's top five, albeit with a slight shakeup. Auburn jumped Alabama to take the No. 3 spot after sitting at No. 4 last week. The Tigers handed Ole Miss its second straight loss on Saturday, and though they have one loss to Mississippi State, they also have a strong win at No. 9 Kansas State. Auburn and Alabama will face off in the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 29.
  • TCU continues its climb up the polls after another strong win. It survived a trip to Morgantown against now-No. 24 West Virginia on Saturday. The Horned Frogs, whose only loss came against No. 10 Baylor, will take on No. 9 Kansas State next weekend in a must-win game if they hope to contend in the Big 12.
  • Ole Miss took a major tumble from No. 7 to No. 12 after its second straight loss this weekend. The Rebels began the season with a 7-0 start and were among the many teams contending for a spot in the College Football Playoff. Now, those hopes are all but gone.
