LSU suspends starting cornerback Rashard Robinson

Saturday November 8th, 2014

LSU cornerback Rashard Robinson has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, the school announced on Saturday.

Junior Jalen Collins will replace Robinson in the starting lineup against Alabama.

Robinson has recorded 17 tackles over eight games this season. The 6-foot-3, 177-pound sophomore had started the last six games.

The Tigers rank first in the SEC in pass defense but will have to defend Alabama's Amari Cooper, who is considered one of the top receivers in the country, without one of their top defensive backs

LSU is 7-2 (3-2 SEC) and ranked No. 16 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, while Alabama is 7-1 (4-1 SEC) and ranked No. 5.

After Saturday's matchup with the Crimson Tide, the Tigers close the regular season with road games against Arkansas and Texas A&M.
