Four-star defensive end Jalen Dalton commits to North Carolina

Jalen Dalton, a heralded defensive lineman who attends West Forsyth (N.C.) High, announced Thursday that he has verbally committed to North Carolina.

Dalton, who drew scholarship offers from Virginia Tech and Duke, among other programs, is the No. 4 weakside defensive end and No. 69 player in the class of 2015, according to rankings on the recruiting website

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound senior is the 15th player and second defensive lineman -- joining three-star defensive tackle Aaron Crawford -- in the class of 2015 to commit to the Tar Heels.
