Online records show the 21-year-old Ypsilanti-area resident was being held without bond Sunday in the Erie County jail in Sandusky, Ohio.
Perkins Township police arrested Clark on Saturday and said Sunday they expect to release more information soon.
Coach Brady Hoke says he's aware of the case but hasn't yet spoken with Clark. He says Michigan ''will respect the legal process.''
Clark was arrested in 2012 for stealing a laptop computer from a dorm room. He was sentenced under a law that cleared the felony from his record after he completed probation.
Clark has 42 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks this season for Michigan, which hosts Maryland on Saturday.
