Nicholls St. names Rebowe new head football coach

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) Nicholls State has hired Louisiana-Lafayette assistant Tim Rebowe as its new head football coach.

Rebowe has been an assistant with the Ragin' Cajuns for 11 seasons, and also was a Nicholls assistant for six years earlier in his coaching career.

Nicholls President Bruce Murphy says Rebowe ''brings extensive recruiting and coaching expertise and tons of enthusiasm'' to the program.

Working under Louisiana-Lafayette head coach Mark Hudspeth, Rebowe has helped lead the Ragin' Cajuns to bowl games in the past three seasons.

The Colonels went 0-12 this season. Former head coach Charlie Stubbs resigned in September, citing health reasons.
