The cliches are all true.

In Alabama, the Iron Bowl is a heated topic of discussion 365 days a year. The rivalry can split families, break hearts and make dreams come true.

Ahead of the college football season, The Associated Press asked its panel of voters in the Top 25 poll what are the nation's best rivalries.

Alabama-Auburn took the spot. Ohio State-Michigan was No. 2 and Army-Navy came in third. Those top three were far and away the most mentioned by the voters.
