Colorado State, Utah to play in Las Vegas Bowl

LAS VEGAS (AP) Colorado State and No. 23 Utah will play in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 20.

The teams were selected for the game Sunday.

Colorado State went 10-2 to finish second behind Boise State in the Mountain West Conference's Mountain Division. Rams coach Jim McElwain left last week to become Florida's new coach. Offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin was named Colorado State's interim coach.

Utah went 8-4 to finish fifth in the Pac-12's difficult South Division. The Utes started strong before losing three of their final five games.

Southern California beat Fresno State 45-20 in last year's Las Vegas Bowl at Sam Boyd Stadium.
