4 Oregon St. aides to join Riley's Nebraska staff

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) New Nebraska football coach Mike Riley is bringing four of his Oregon State assistants with him to Lincoln.

Riley said Thursday that defensive assistants Mark Banker and Trent Bray, offensive assistant Mike Cavanaugh and special teams coach Bruce Read will be on his staff. No coordinator designations, other than special teams, have been made.

The four assistants have a combined 97 years of experience and a combined 45 years working with Riley, including time at Oregon State and the San Diego Chargers.

Banker was Riley's defensive coordinator at Oregon State, Bray was the linebackers coach and Cavanaugh was offensive line coach. Read has focused on special teams throughout his 29 years in coaching.

The rest of his staff will be announced later.
