Locey becomes coach at Lewis & Clark

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Former Oregon State assistant coach and chief of staff Jay Locey has been named head football coach at Lewis & Clark.

Locey, who has been with the Beavers for the past nine years, replaces Chris Sulages, who resigned following a 0-9 season for the Northwest Conference Pioneers.

Locey was previously head coach at Linfield from 1996-2006 and led the Wildcats to the NCAA Division III championship in 2004. He was 84-18 overall at Linfield and was named NWC Coach of the Year five times.

A native of Corvallis, Oregon, Locey becomes the 10th coach in Lewis & Clark history.
