TCU coach Gary Patterson receives contract extension
TCU head coach Gary Patterson has received a contract extension, according to Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News. TCU athletic director declined to give any details about the contract, but said it runs "through the decade."
On Monday, Patterson was named the winner of the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award. He was also named the Big 12 Coach of the Year and Home Depot Coach of the Year after leading the Horned Frogs to an 11-1 record.
Patterson, 54, has been at TCU since 1998. He was the defensive coordinator from 1998 to 2000. He coached the team on an interim basis in its bowl game in 2000 before taking over full-time in the 2011 season.
Patterson is the fifth-longest tenured coach in FBS. He has the fourth-best winning percentage among active coaches who have coached for at least 10 years.
