Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas made a tough 13-yard touchdown catch with 12 seconds remaining in the second quarter of the Sugar Bowl on a pass by fellow receiver Evan Spencer. The score cut Alabama's lead to 21-20 at halftime.

The trick play occurred after quarterback Cardale Jones handed off to running back Jalin Marshall, who then tossed it to Spencer, who found Thomas in the end zone.
