As a freshman last season, Sims had seven catches for 62 yards and a touchdown. He was a four-star recruit coming out of high school who was ranked as the No. 24 wide receiver in his class by Rivals.

Alabama went 12-2 last season, making the College Football Playoff before losing to eventual champion Ohio State in the semifinals.
