Report: Top Missouri commit Terry Beckner Jr. cleared by NCAA

Wednesday June 3rd, 2015

Four-star Missouri incoming freshman Terry Beckner Jr. has been cleared by the NCAA and is now academically eligible to enroll, his father told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch

In May, Tigers head coach Gary Pinkel told the Post-Dispatch that Beckner had “work to do” to ensure he would be eligible for the 2015 season.

The 6'4," 298-pound defensive tackle was ranked as the No. 36 recruit in the country and the No. 5 at his position by Rivals. ESPN ranked him as the No. 2 overall recruit.

Beckner's father told the Post Dispatch that his son will move to Columbia on Friday to begin classes at Missouri.

JOHNSON: Recruiting's commitment issues

On National Signing Day, Beckner committed to the Tigers over Florida State, Auburn and Ohio State

Missouri's 2015 recruiting class was ranked No. 27 in the nation by Rivals. The Tigers went 11–3 (7–1 SEC) last season.
