Central Florida defensive back Chris Williams was shot in the arm twice early Saturday following an argument at an Orlando, Fla., lounge.
The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Williams posted on Facebook Saturday, “I’m OK everybody,” according to UCFSports.com.
UCF has confirmed to multiple sources their awareness of the incident and head coach George O’Leary is gathering information about the situation, according to the Sentinel.
Williams, a redshirt freshman, was a first-team cornerback at the end of spring practices and was in contention for a starting job to open the season, according to UCFSports.com’s Brandon Helwig.
Williams played in one game in 2014, against Tulsa.
