After a 10-3 season that ended with a loss to Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl, Mississippi State opens its season at Southern Miss. Led by quarterback Dak Prescott, the Bulldogs are ranked No. 25 in SI's preseason Top 25. Several offensive weapons return around Prescott including receivers Fred Ross Jr. and De'Runnya Wilson and running back Dontavian Lee. The Bulldogs also bring back experience on the defensive side of the ball. With an early-season clash against LSU looming, Mississippi State faces a major test before hitting the thick of the always-tough SEC schedule.
