The Tennessee Volunteers will open the 2015 season against the Bowling Green Falcons at Nissan Stadium, a neutral site, in Nashville, Tenn.

After finishing 7–6 (3–5 SEC) last season, Tennessee is a sleeper team in the SEC this year, as it returns a league-best 18 starters. Bowling Green was 7–5 in 2014, and the team won its division before falling to Northern Illinois in the MAC Championship Game. The Falcons beat South Alabama 33–28 in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl.

Star sophomore wide receiver Roger Lewis, who had 956 yards and five touchdowns in 2014, returns for Bowling Green this season.
