Bryant holds on to defeat Brown 20-16

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) Brandon Dagnesses intercepted a pass in the end zone with 1:09 to play and Bryant held on to defeat Brown 20-16 on Saturday.

Brown had marched from its 25 to a first-and-goal at the 2, but a bad snapped cost the Bears (0-1) 10 yards. Marcus Fuller then threw two incompletions before the interception.

Bryant (2-0) took a 17-13 lead in the last minute of the third quarter when Torrey Dixon pulled up on a reverse and threw a 37-yard pass to Chad Ward. The teams traded field goals before the dramatic ending.

Fuller finished 32 of 52 for 403 yards but Brown had five turnovers, four in the red zone. Troy Doles had six receptions for 147 yards and a touchdown.

Bryant's Dalton Easton was 24 of 40 for 309 yards and an early touchdown to Ward, who had eight catches for a career-high 180 yards - the fifth-highest total in school history.
