The Minnesota Golden Gophers will host the Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday in a meeting of two 1–1 teams at TCF Bank Stadium.

Minnesota picked up its first win last weekend, knocking off Colorado State on the road 23–20. After forcing a turnover on the first play of overtime, the Gophers secured the win with an 18–yard field goal by Ryan Santoso.

Quarterback Mitch Leidner completed 23 of 45 pass attempts for 233 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Rodney Smith gained 108 yards on 21 carries. Wide receiver Drew Wolitarsky led all players with nine receptions for 114 yards and one touchdown.

The Gophers previously lost to No. 2 TCU in Week 1.

Kent State picked up its first win last weekend as well, defeating Delaware State 45–13. Quarterback Colin Reardon was 11-of-16 for 142 yards and three touchdowns, but kicker April Goss dominated the post-game headlines after she became the second female in NCAA history to score in a Division I game. Goss converted an extra point in the second quarter.
