How to watch Auburn vs. San Jose State.
The Tigers, who peaked at No. 6 in the AP Top 25 earlier this season, followed their Sept. 19 road loss to LSU with a 17–9 home loss to Mississippi State last weekend. Auburn allowed two unanswered first-half touchdowns in the latter and never made up the deficit, only converting a trio of field goals by Daniel Carlson.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Sean White made his first collegiate start after head coach Gus Malzahn tabbed him to replace Jeremy Johnson, completing 20 of 28 pass attempts for 188 yards and one interception. Running back Peyton Barber rushed 27 times for 137 yards to lead all players.
San Jose State is 2–2 and has book-ended a pair of road losses to Air Force and Oregon State with wins over New Hampshire in the season opener and Fresno State last weekend. Against Fresno State, San Jose State scored the game’s first two touchdowns and never relinquished the lead as running back Tyler Ervin rushed 42 times for 300 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Joe Gray completed 20 of 23 pass attempts for 252 yards and three touchdowns.
