Coming off three straight wins, Penn State has one more nonconference tune-up when it plays Army on Saturday in Happy Valley.

The Nittany Lions defeated San Diego State at home last weekend 37–21. Quarterback Christian Hackenberg completed 21 of 35 pass attempts for 296 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Saeed Blacknall caught four passes for 101 yards and fellow receiver Chris Godwin added five receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Penn State limited San Diego State to 242 yards and forced the Aztecs into three turnovers, all fumbles.

Army picked up its first win of the season last weekend against Eastern Michigan, earning a 58–36 road victory. The Black Knights never trailed in their first win as a true road team since November 2010, snapping a 21-game stretch of road losses.
