College football Week 6 picks: SI.com's writers predict winners for Cal-Utah, Oklahoma-Texas and more.

By this point in the season, at least a few teams have created some separation from the rest of the pack. Heading into week six of the 2015 campaign, though, it feels as if we’re no closer to figuring out the squads most qualified to compete for a national championship than we were in August. The parity should bring more unpredictable results, which is a good thing from a fan’s perspective … unless your favorite team is on the wrong end of an upset.

This week’s slate is underwhelming in comparison to last week’s, but there are several matchups worth keeping an eye on. Who will emerge from Northwestern-Michigan as a legitimate contender in the Big Ten? Can TCU survive a trip to Kansas State? SI.com's team of college football writers—Andy Staples, Pete Thamel, Thayer Evans, Zac Ellis, Colin Becht, Lindsay Schnell, Brian Hamilton and Ben Glicksman—offers its predictions for those games and more.

• BECHT: Clemson climbs, Ohio State falls in power rankings

• ROUNDTABLE: Which team seems capable of going undefeated?

• ELLIS: Quarterbacks emerge as contenders in Heisman race
