Fan stable after heart attack during Michigan State-Michigan final play

Michigan State stuns Michigan with fumble TD on final play

A fan at Michigan Stadium reportedly had a heart attack during the final, game-determining play of Michigan State’s crazy win over Michigan.

ESPN’s Dan Murphy reports the fan is currently in stable condition at Michigan’s University Hospital. A Michigan spokeswoman for the department of public safety told reporters the fan went to the hospital by ambulance just after the game’s final whistle.

According to, the size of the crowd made it tough for EMS workers to find the person at first. There was no official update on the person’s condition.

Michigan State won the game on the last play after Michigan punter Blake O’Neill fumbled a snap and lost the ball under heavy pressure. Michigan State’s Jalen Watts-Jackson recovered the fumble and took it into the end zone for the touchdown and a 27–23 victory.
