Last week, the Rebels rebounded from a loss to the Florida Gators with a 52–3 victory over winless New Mexico State. Quarterback Chad Kelly threw for 384 yards, three touchdowns and ran for another score, while Eugene Brazley rushed for a team-best 98 yards, including a 78-yard touchdown in the win.
The undefeated Tigers are coming off a bye week following a 24–17 victory against South Florida, which extended their winning streak to 12 games. Quarterback Paxton Lynch threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns for Memphis, who is off to its best start in 54 years.
