Thursday October 22nd, 2015

Mississippi State senior cornerback Will Redmond has a torn ACL and is likely to miss the remainder of the season, reports Michael Bonner of the Clarion-Ledger.

Redmond reportedly sustained the injury in Wednesday’s practice.

Redmond leads the Bulldogs defense with two interceptions, and heads the cornerback corps with 25 tackles. Some analysts have pegged Redmond as a potential first-round pick in the NFL draft.

In his Mississippi State career, Redmond has collected 94 total tackles — 65 solo and 29 assisted — in 26 games.

Tolando Cleveland, who has started four games this season, could see an increase in playing time in Redmond’s absence.

Mississippi State will play Kentucky at home on Saturday. The Bulldogs and Wildcats are both unranked in the latest Associated Press and Coaches Poll.
