Coach: James Madison quarterback Lee out 'indefinitely'

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) James Madison coach Everett Withers says quarterback Vad Lee's left foot injury will sideline him ''indefinitely.''

Lee was injured early in the fourth quarter of the Dukes' 59-49 loss to Richmond on Saturday night. Withers declined to give any additional details about the injury.

The school said in a release Lee will have an MRI on his foot and be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.

Lee is considered among the front-runners for the Walter Payton Award given to the top FCS player.

He had run for three touchdowns and thrown for two before being sidelined against the Spiders. In a 48-45 victory at SMU in September, Lee ran for 276 yards and two touchdowns, passed for 289 yards and three scores, including a game-winning 17-yard touchdown with 27 seconds remaining.
