Report: Georgia’s third-string QB Faton Bauta to start vs. Gators

Friday October 30th, 2015

Georgia’s third string quarterback Faton Bauta will start against the Florida Gators on Saturday, reports Mike Huguenin of Gridiron Now.

Bauta, who reportedly worked with the first team offense in practice this week, will get the nod over starter Greyson Lambert and No. 2 option Bryce Ramsey.

The run-favoring junior, who has 10 carries for 46 yards and two rushing touchdowns in his college career, will make his first career start against the Gators. He has yet to take a snap this season.

Lambert, who has started all seven games for the Bulldogs this season, serves as a stark contrast to Bauta. While the Virginia-transfer has 1,276 yards passing for nine touchdowns through the air this season, his running game has struggled, as he has accumulated minus-16 yards on 16 rushing attempts.

The Bulldogs (5–2, 3–2 SEC) will travel to EverBank Field to face the Gators (6–1, 4–1 SEC) at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
