Albany snaps 4-game losing streak, beats Delaware 17-6

NEWARK, Del. (AP) Cory Parker recovered a muffed punt in the end zone and Albany snapped a four-game losing streak with a 17-6 victory over Delaware on Saturday.

Diante Cherry dropped a punt inside the Delaware 5 and the ball bounded into the end zone where Parker recovered to give the Great Danes (3-6, 2-4 Colonial) a 10-6 lead with 14 seconds left in the third quarter. D.J. Crook, who took over for the injured Nevan Sussman in the first quarter, threw a 5-yard score to Brad Harris in the final quarter.

Crook rushed for a career-high 134 yards on 13 carries, including 63-yard run. Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks had 135 yards on 28 carries.

Delaware didn't find the end zone against Albany and hasn't scored a touchdown in three of its last four games. Blake Rankin relieved Joe Walker at quarterback in the third quarter but Delaware's only points came on two field goals.
