The undefeated Tigers are coming off a 23–13 win against the Florida State Seminoles last Saturday for their ninth straight victory this season. Clemson overcame a first-half deficit to defeat the Seminoles 23–13. With the win, the Tigers captured the ACC Atlantic Division title.
Last week, the Orange (3–6) fell to the Louisville Cardinals. Syracuse led during the first half, but Louisville scored 34 straight points to earn the 41–17 victory over the Orange.
