USC linebackers Cameron Smith and Michael Dawson are out for the season with injuries, the team announced.

Smith, a freshman, will have knee surgery. Dawson, a senior, will have surgery on his shoulder. Both players were injured during USC’s 27–24 win over Colorado on Saturday.

Smith leads the team with 78 tackles and has made three interceptions, contributing immediately in his first season with the Trojans. He tore an undisclosed ligament in his knee in the second quarter.

Dawson made 31 tackles in eight games this season. 

USC won its fourth straight game under interim coach Clay Helton and moved to 7–3 and 5–2 in Pac-12 play. The Trojans have games remaining against Oregon and UCLA.
