Texas Longhorns redshirt freshman quarterback Jerrod Heard was ruled out of the team’s game against Texas Tech with a head injury.

Texas Longhorns redshirt freshman quarterback Jerrod Heard was ruled out of the team’s game against Texas Tech and if being evaluated for a head injury.

The longhorns were already missing running backs Jonathan Gray and and D’Onta Foreman and offensive guard Patrick Vahe headed into the game headed into Thursday night’s game.

In addition to Heard, the Longhorns lost running back Kirk Johnson to an ankle injury. Freshman linebacker Malik Jefferson is also being evaluated for an ankle injury.

The Red Raiders (6–5) lead the Longhorns (4–6) 17–10 at halftime.
