Mississippi State linebackers Gerri Green and DeAndre Ward were arrested Friday and charged with possession of beer in a dry county, reports the Starkville Daily News.

According to the Oktibbeha County Sherrif’s records, Green was also charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, while Ward was also charged with disturbing the peace. Both players were out on bond early Friday morning after hosting a party in Green’s apartment near Mississippi State campus. The chief deputy sheriff said there was no altercation.

A Mississippi State spokesman told the Daily News the team was aware of the arrests and would handle discipline internally. Both players were at practice on Friday and Saturday.

Green, a redshirt freshman, was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman team this week and made 44 tackles this season. Ward, a reserve and former walk-on made 14 tackles.

Mississippi State (8–4) plays NC State (7–5) in the Belk Bowl on Dec. 30.
