Texas, Ohio State lead athletic departments in revenue for 2014–15

For the 2014–15 school year, 28 athletic departments have reported that they generated at least $100 million in revenue, according to a report acquired by CBS Sports.

Texas is reported to have made the most money at $179.6 million. Ohio StateAlabamaLSU and Oklahoma follow the Longhorns to round out the top five. 

Of the 28 schools on that list, 18 of them belong to the SEC or Big Ten. Last year, 10 of the 19 schools that generated the most revenue were from the SEC. 

As a whole, SEC schools averaged $110.3 million in revenue this year, while the Big Ten made $103.3 million.

Florida State and Louisville represented the ACC on the list of schools making over $100 million. Pac-12 schools included USC and Washington. Along with Texas and Oklahoma, Kansas and Baylor were others from the Big 12 on the list.

In total, the 65 Power 5 conferences plus Notre Dame made $6.3 billion in revenue during 2014–15.
