Notre Dame QB Malik Zaire (ankle) throws in practice

Tuesday December 29th, 2015

Notre Dame junior quarterback Malik Zaire resumed throwing at the Fighting Irish’s practice on Tuesday, reports the South Bend Tribune’s Mike Vorel.

Zaire was seen working out with receivers Will Fuller and Amir Carlisle.

Zaire injured his ankle in the third week of the season against Georgia Tech. DeShone Kizer entered the game and threw a game-winning touchdown pass to Fuller. Kizer has thrown for 2,600 yards and 19 touchdowns with nine interceptions this year.

• Notre Dame S Max Redfield sent home after violating team rules

Notre Dame is 7–2 in the nine games that Kizer has started for the Irish this season.

The Irish will play Ohio State in Friday’s Fiesta Bowl.
