No. 13 Northwestern takes on Tennessee in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla. on New Year’s Day.

After a 10–2 season, the Wildcats enter off five straight wins and are shooting for the first 11-win season in program history. The Vols are 8–4 and have also won five straight, finishing second in the SEC East.

Northwestern is led by a stout defense and freshman quarterback Clayton Thorson, while Tennessee will lean on quarterback Joshua Dobbs and running back Jalen Hurd.
