Hargrave added to Senior Bowl

(STATS) - It might be difficult for South Carolina State defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to remain a sleeper for the NFL Draft.

Fresh off a superb week at the East-West Shrine Game, the two-time MEAC defensive player of the year was named Thursday as an injury replacement for the South squad at the 67th Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on Saturday.

A STATS FCS first-team All-American last season, the 6-foot-2, 295-pound Hargrave led the MEAC with 13 1/2 sacks and was second in tackles for loss with 22. In his junior season of 2014, he set the FCS record with six sacks in a game.

Hargrave is considered a 3-tech defensive tackle prospect for a 4-3 defense. He was a standout during Shrine Game practices last week, often quick off the snap and beating offensive linemen to get into the opposing backfield.
