Florida Gators quarterback Treon Harris will change positions and serve as a wide receiver next season, Gridiron Now reports.
Harris, who started nine games under center last season for the Gators, will be at his new position for the team’s spring practices. He passed for 1,676 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore last season, while also collecting 238 yards on the ground.
The quarterback job for 2016 will likely either go to junior Luke Del Rio, graduate-transfer Austin Appleby or true freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask.
The Gators fell to Michigan 41–7 in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1.
They finished the 2015 season with a 10–4 record.
