(STATS) - Rhode Island will turn to an experienced lineup as it seeks considerable improvement during an 11-game 2016 schedule announced Tuesday.

The Rams have gone 2-21 in coach Jim Fleming's first two seasons, but will have 17 returning starters (nine on offense and eight on defense) for a season that kicks off on Sept. 3 at Kansas.

URI will host five games at Meade Stadium, including four in CAA Football - Albany (Sept. 10), New Hampshire (Sept. 24), Maine (Oct. 22, Homecoming) and Towson (Nov. 19). The Rams also will host Brown (Oct. 1) in the Governor's Cup as the rivals meet for the 101st time.

In addition to the Kansas game, the Rams will travel to Ivy League power Harvard (Sept. 16) and CAA opponents Villanova (Oct. 8), Stony Brook (Oct. 15), James Madison (Oct. 29) and Elon (Nov. 12).
