Notre Dame defensive end Grant Blankenship has been suspended for violating team rules.
Notre Dame defensive end Grant Blankenship has been suspended for violating team rules, head coach Brian Kelly announced Friday.
The rising junior’s current status with the team is uncertain.
“The standards that are set within the program have not been met,” Kelly said. “I’ll meet with him after the spring game and we’ll decide what the course is from here on out.”
In three games for the Irish last season, Blankenship recorded one tackle. He accumulated 12 tackles in 11 games during his freshman campaign in 2014.
Notre Dame’s 87th annual Blue-Gold Game is on Saturday.
