Murray State adding wide receiver from Delaware State

(STATS) - Murray State's football program is adding Delaware State wide receiver Malik Golson to its recruiting class as a graduate transfer, Racers coach Mitch Stewart announced Thursday.

Golson will be able to play immediately after he receives his undergraduate degree from Delaware State this spring.

In three seasons at Delaware State, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound Golson caught 100 passes for 1,072 yards and nine touchdowns. He also led the Hornets in punt returns each year.

Golson is the eighth wide receiver to join Murray State's 35-member recruiting class. The Racers are replacing four key wideouts from last year's squad that went 3-8, including 2-6 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Golson will be the second player to leave Delaware State via the graduate transfer rule this year. Defensive end Gabriel Sherrod previously announced his intentions to transfer to Syracuse.
