Four Auburn players arrested for possession of marijuana
Four Auburn players were arrested Saturday for possession of marijuana, reports the Opelika-Auburn News.
Byron Cowart, Carlton Davis III, Ryan Davis and Jeremiah Dinson—all sophomores—were the four players arrested. They were charged with a second-degree misdemeanor, and could face up to a $6,000 fine.
“I am aware of the situation and we will handle this matter appropriately,“ Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said in a statement.
Carlton Davis made nine starts as a freshman last season, and is projected to start at cornerback for the Tigers in 2016.
Cowart, a former No. 1 recruit, played mostly as a backup on the defensive line last year.
Dinson played mostly cornerback during his freshman year, playing in nine games before his season ended when he tore three knee ligaments, dislocated his knee and dislocated his shoulder from a blindside hit during a game against Texas A&M.
Ryan Davis appeared in eight games at wide receiver in 2015.
