Miami has reinstated running back Mark Walton, the school announced Monday.

Walton was suspended indefinitely in April after he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license. Monday, the state attorney’s office dropped all charges against Walton, and the Hurricanes reinstated him hours later.

Walton ran for 461 yards and nine touchdowns last season, his freshman year at Miami. He also recorded 22 receptions for 293 yards and a touchdown and returned 17 kickoffs for 300 yards.

Walton is expected to be one of Miami’s top running backs this fall.
