The Texas Longhorns briefly led the Notre Dame Fighting Irish after a touchdown late in the fourth quarter but cornerback Shaun Crawford returned a blocked extra point to tie the game at 37.

Notre Dame entered Sunday night's game ranked No. 10 in the country. Head coach Brian Kelly opted to initially split time between quarterbacks DeShone Kizer and Malik Zaire before settling on Kizer, who accounted for five touchdowns in regulation.

The Texas offense was led by true freshman quarterback Shane Buechele.
