Ole Miss lost one of its top defensive players for the season.
Ole Miss junior cornerback Ken Webster will miss the remainder of the 2016 season, he announced Tuesday.
Webster was carted off the field during the first quarter of the Rebels' game against Florida State with an apparent knee injury.
Webster, one of the school's top defensive backs, was defending a deep pass to Seminoles wideout Kermit Whitfield. He leapt up, and on the way down his knee caught in the turf and bent the wrong way. He was writhing in pain, and crying on the cart back into the locker room.
You can view video of the injury here, though we should warn you it's somewhat gruesome in nature.
He was a big part of a Rebels defense that ranked in the top three among SEC teams in tackles for loss last season. He started every game.
