BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) Taryn Christion threw for a career-high four touchdowns and ran in another score to lead South Dakota State to a 56-28 win over Drake on Saturday night.

Jake Wieneke hauled in three of those TD throws, his only receptions of the game, to tie a school record with 32 career touchdowns.

South Dakota State (1-1) jumped to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and was never threatened the rest of the way.

Jared Blum intercepted a pass from Drake's Andrew Clifford, returning it for a touchdown in the third quarter, and Jake Harms returned a blocked punt for a TD in the fourth. Christion was 24 of 28 for 224 yards and had a touchdown throw to Dallas Goedert.

Drake (0-2) got touchdown throws from Cody Thibault and Grant Kraemer. Conley Wilkins had a 3-yard touchdown run, and Drew Lauer returned a kick 87 yards for a touchdown.
