Former Florida quarterback Chris Leak is under investigation for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
The investigation is ongoing, and Leak has not been charged with a crime as of Wednesday evening.
Leak, 31, resigned as head football coach at Edgewater (Fl.) High School on Monday after the team started the season 0–5. The alleged offense took place on Sept. 5 and was reported on Monday.
Leak allegedly asked the girl to give him a massage in the athletic trainer’s office and eventually grabbed her hands and “grazed his genitals a few times,” and then the girl left, according to a police report. Leak drove her home, bought her food afterwards, and gave $100 to a friend who she told about the incident.
After leading the Gators to the 2007 BCS National Championship, Leak had a brief pro career before working on the Florida coaching staff under Will Muschamp. He worked in football development and outreach in 2015 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is married with two young daughters, according to the Sentinel.
