Hugo Richard leads Laval past Calgary in Vanier Cup

HAMILTON, Ontario (AP) Hugo Richard scored on a late 3-yard run to lead Laval to its ninth Vanier Cup title, 31-26 over Calgary on Saturday in the Canadian college football championship.

Richard was 25 of 32 for 339 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 62 yards on nine carries. Vincent Alarie-Tardif ran for 95 yards on 17 carries and had a third-quarter touchdown.

Laval won the title for the first time since 2013, when the Rouge et Or's also beat the Dinos.
