USC's Jackson wins Thorpe Award as top defensive back

ATLANTA (AP) Adoree' Jackson of Southern California has claimed the Jim Thorpe Award as the top defensive back in college football.

Jackson beat out LSU's Tre'Davious White and Michigan's Jourdan Lewis.

The winner is more than a defensive back.

Jackson ranks third nationally in punt returns (15.9-yard average), sixth in kickoff returns (30.5) and has scored touchdowns this season on offense and defense, as well as returning punts and kickoffs.
