(STATS) - The Big Ten's decision to relax its scheduling restrictions of FCS programs must have come with 20/20 vision.
Or 2020 with Southern Illinois.
Wisconsin announced Tuesday it will host the Salukis on Sept. 19, 2020 at Camp Randall Stadium. It will be the Badgers' first game against an FCS team since facing Western Illinois, like SIU a Missouri Valley Football Conference program, in 2014.
In 2015, the Big Ten instituted a no-FCS policy as a way for its teams to strengthen scheduling for possible bids to the College Football Policy. But the Big Ten, having moved to a nine-game conference schedule, has since allowed its teams to schedule an FCS opponent when they have only four home conference games.
