Ole Miss and Mississippi State will exchange pleasantries for the 114th time in the annual Thanksgiving tradition known as the Egg Bowl.

The Rebels have had a rough season, with the firing of their head coach Hugh Freeze earlier in the season, but beating Mississippi State would not only give them bragging rights, but also give them a .500 record.

Ole Miss took a self–imposed bowl ban for this season after the NCAA charged the program with lack of institutional control.

Mississippi State bounced from a close loss to Alabama to dispatch Arkansas 31–24.

Nick Fitzgerald has been one of the SEC's best quarterbacks, throwing for 1,770 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also leads the team in rushing with 968 yards and 14 scores on the ground.

Ole Miss leads the series 63–44–6, with the team splitting the last six meetings.
