All hail the return of college football rap

Tuesday January 24th, 2012

We'd like to kick off our Tuesday morning slog with a sincere and heartfelt apology. You all know by now how dedicated we are at Campus Union to bringing you, our dear readership, the very latest in cutting-edge college football-themed rap videos. Distracted by our first vacation in a very long time, we missed the Friday debut of the latest thumping anthem dedicated to Chad Kelly, a four-star dual-threat quarterback, Clemson commit and nephew of one Jim Kelly, whom you might have heard used to play a little organized ball himself.

Vigilant readers will remember Kelly-the-younger from last summer's "We Back" video:

And below is the new track, with the simple, evocative title "Chad Kelly." We particularly admire the audacity of pairing the line "No. 1 QB" in the chorus with a newscaster intoning that ESPN has Kelly ranked merely fifth in the nation. And if you've ever wanted to hear the phrase "Under Armour All-American" spoken in a measured cadence, buddy, is this ever the song for you.
